![]() CARRET & COMPANY'S PHIL CARRET (continued from preceding page) What do you think the price of gold will be at the end of this year? Carret: Well, I guess I'm a gold bug. I think that everybody should have somewhere between 2% and 5 his net worth in gold - preferably in gold coins, which might conceivably have some scarcity value some day Gold is a remarkable commodity. It's indestruct and good looking.... And it's universally desired.... And as our last resort, God forbid, if we ever got major. major depression, a little gold might save one's life. Are there any secrets of a long life you can tell us? Carret: Yes. First, pick your parents carefully. Second, have a reasonably serene disposition. Third - this is addressed to men - find an ideal wife, as I did. Don't worry. That's the main thing.... Aside from health. I don't think one should ever worry. No point worrying about things that probably won't happen. My friend, Norman Vincent Peale, tells the story about meeting a parishioner who was obviously very depressed. So he stopped to chat with him. So he said, "Oh, Dr. Peale, I'm terribly worried. problems, problems. I don't know what to do." Norman said, "Why I've just come from a place where there's 60,000 people without a problem among them. "Oh," he said, "That sounds wonderful. I'd love to be there. Norman said, "I don't think you would. It was Woodlawn Cemetery." OlD: Thank you, Mr. Carret. -OID
